From Hero To Zero | The Downfall OF Former Kaizer Chiefs Star Khama Billiat
Khama Billiat is a Zimbabwean footballer who used to be one of the biggest names in African Football playing for South African premier league sides such as Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Capetown.
At Kaizer Chiefs Billiart was rumored to be the highest paid footballer in the DSTV premier league earning at around 10 million rands annually.
As the tables have turned for the Zimbabwean super star his contract expired and the South African giants did not want to extend it.
The reasons for the end of contract might be due the un ending injuries and the lack of fitness as the player is getting very old.
It is also rumored that Kaizer Chiefs felt like the striker’s wages where too much so that is why they decided to part was with him and replace him with young talents at the camp.
Khama Billiat’s Injuries At Kaizer Chiefs
The injury that cripled Billiat’s career at Kaizer Chiefs is the one where he suffered a groin injury on February 5 2023 which meant that he was going out till the end of the season.
During his time at Chiefs Billiat sustained about 9 injuries and we believe this played a crucial role on the decision to not renew his contract.
Khama Billiat’s Move To Supersport United
We are not sure what went wrong with the Supersport deal but it came to our knowledge that Khama only trained with the Pretoria based giants for only one day and he never came back.
“He was here for one day, and he left, and he never came back. I wasn’t there though, so I have never seen him. I never spoke to Billiat since at Kaizer Chiefs, years ago.”
“He trained here one morning, he was here just one morning, and he never came back, that’s all,”
Supersport United coach Gavin Hunt commented when he was asked about the Khama Billiat situation.
Where Could Billiat Move To After This
Since the Supersport United deal got botched, the once superstar has had to try and settle for his country side teams such as Dynamos, CAPS United, Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum.
For the past fortnight or more the Zimbabwean giants Dynamos FC have been the race for the star as they look to juice up their squad.
Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum are mining owned teams who have a lot on their pockets and they have since joined the race hoping the foward will choose where the bag is more rather club history as Dynamos have been known to dominate in the country and in CAF.
According to Sports Brief Manica Diamonds where reportedly willing to splash a whooping 370 000 to sign the former Kaizer Chiefs forward.
Saudi League And Egypt Interest
It is said that after his contract ended Khama received multiple offers from the Saudi Pro League and Egypt Premier league teams.
It is unsure why the Zimbabwean didn’t not make an effort to consider these clubs as he has been since linked strongly to his country’s football club.
